SENIOR REPS

It seems early to start thinking about NEXT year's seniors, especially when this year's seniors have not graduated yet; however, you can be sure the class of 2013 is counting the days until they are official seniors!  Part of the excitement of senior year is having your senior portraits taken.  Senior portraits are so different from a few years ago - they are so much more personalized and fun now!  I enjoy taking senior portraits probably more than any other kind of photography, so I am so excited to start a new year of portrait taking!!   I rounded up a few representatives from various schools to be my models and spokespersons for my studio.  After all, word of mouth is THE best advertising tool (along with Facebook)!

Senior reps come in and I do a small session with them.  This session is free to them.  I then design cards using their picture and my contact information, along with a "coupon" for $25 off any senior portrait session for the one who brings the card back to me.  The rep passes these out to any class of 2013 student.  For helping me out, the reps get $50 off their portrait session this summer/fall, plus, they get $5 print credit for every card with their image on turned in to me and session booked.  It's a win-win for everyone!

My first two reps this year are Alicia and Ashley.  Alicia attends Spencer High School.  She plans to possible major in the education field, which is why we used the "school" look here.  Also, I love the feminine look of the rose petals and white background.

Ashley is from Colby High School.  She enjoys the casual "grungy" look, which I think turned out great for her.

I have several more reps coming in the next few weeks, and I will be introducing them on my blog as well!

SPENCER CHEERLEADERS

Photographing girls is so much different than photographing boys!  Girls enjoy (usually) posing and smiling.  Most boys hate to have their pictures taken.  I had a lot of fun photographing the Spencer cheerleaders, and they were willing to try to fun poses and ideas.  There are only 4 of them, so I was able to try many different poses for each girl and several of them as a group.  Here are a few images from their session.

SENIOR REPS NEEDED FOR CLASS OF 2013

It may seem early for the class of 2013 to start thinking about senior portraits, but believe me, the year goes by so quickly and before you know it, it is September of your senior year and you will be too busy to think about getting your portraits taken!

Schedule your senior portrait session as soon as you know what month you want your portraits taken.  Summer is the most popular time, but lots of kids like fall portraits.  Even if you want October portraits, you can schedule them as early as May!  July to December is really busy for me, not only doing senior portraits, but also family portraits, especially in the fall!  If you book early, you don't have to worry if I'll have an opening!

I am looking for 1-2 students in the class of 2013 to be my senior representatives.  Senior reps get to be on my advertising brochures.  The rep session is free, and all I ask is that you hand out 15 fliers with your images on to anyone in local schools graduating in 2013.  Then, you get $50 off any senior session of your choice, plus $5 print credit for each friend who books a session and turns in your rep card!  The friend who turns in the rep card will receive $25 off any senior session.

Give me a call if you are interested, or if you know someone graduating in 2013, please pass this information along to them!  I still needs reps in all local schools, except for Spencer.

FAMILY SESSIONS-The H family

I just love meeting new families!  Patti and her family were so much fun to work with!  The kids were so well behaved and cooperative!  Patti's dad came along too and I got some touching images of the family with him.  These are just a few of my personal favorites from the session.

NEW LENS

There are so many items on my "wish list" for my photography business.  Of course, there is always the new backdrops and props I'm on the lookout for, but then t here are the really expensive items - like lenses and lighting equipment.  I recently purchased a new Canon lens - the EF 70-200 mm f/4.0.  I've wanted this lens for a long time.  Since it's not real great for inside my studio, it's main purpose will be outdoor portraits, wildlife, and of course, shots of my boys playing baseball!

We went sledding this weekend and I got to really use my new lens.  Wow-I am so impressed with this thing!  It gives an awesome sharp image and the zoom is perfect for my needs.   Here are some of the images I took using this lens.

Now. . . . for baseball season and senior portrait time to begin. . .
