SIBLINGS

Trying to capture the special bond between siblings. . .

EYE OF THE BEHOLDER

This past week, as Rachel, her mother and sister viewed the images that we had taken, I realized how different everyone's tastes and preferences are!  There were images that I absolutely LOVED, but Rachel, Marie and Sarah did not choose them for their favorite list!

I think it has something to do with the model's personality coming out in the images.  Marie could look at a photo and see how the tilt of her daughter's head or her smile were "her's", or if they were "posed".

It was an important lesson for me to realize that although a photo may be perfect in composition and lighting and may be post processed perfectly, it all boils down to capturing the individual's personality and style.

It is a good thing I took over 300 images, I guess!

More of Rachel

This session was sooooo much fun!
This is Rachel's older sister, Sarah.  I'll post some of her by herself later.

If you're reading this, let me know.  I love comments!

Rachel's Senior Shoot

This was such a fun photo shoot.  First of all, Rachel is the daughter of one of my best friends, and secondly, she is so photogenic that it was a breeze taking these!  Here is a sample of what we got today.

The Birthday Boy

Birthdays are a great time to have your child's portrait taken.  They can be as serious or fun as you would like.  At the current time, I do not have my studio up and running, so all shots are taken outdoors or in a home with LOTS of great natural light!   Here are some candid shots I took of my son, who will be 4 next week.
I could not decide which one I liked best, so I compromised and used them all!

CRAZY FOR FEET

I love shots of feet and shoes!  Here are some of my favorites!

Silhouettes

I love photographing silhouettes!  Here are a few I took this past weekend while camping, and one of my son, the Wisconsin cowboy.

Some of these were taken just before dark and were not completely silhouetted, so I played around with them in PSE and I rather like the results.  They are kind of reminiscent of old photos with a dreamy quality.
